Narrated from Sayyiduna Jubair bin Mut’im (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which part of the earth is the worst? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: I do not know. When Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he asked him this question, but he said: I also do not know, but I will ask my Lord. So he left, then after some delay or period, when he returned, he said: O Muhammad! You had asked about the worst part of the earth and I had said that I do not know, then I asked my Lord, so He said that the worst part of the surface of the earth is the marketplaces.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The most beloved places to Allah are its mosques, and the most detested places to Allah are its markets.” (Sahih Muslim)
The matter of mosques is clear: they are centers for prayer (salah), recitation (tilawah), remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and worship (‘ibadah), and they are sanctuaries for the righteous and even for the angels. As for the issue of markets, they are comprised of such types of corruption: lying, deception, false oaths, in the present era the worst kind of intermingling between men and women and lack of modesty, matters that distract from the remembrance of Allah, and the abundance of devils who incite these corruptions.
