Narrated from Sayyiduna ‘Urwah bin Abi Ja‘d Barqī (may Allah be pleased with him) that news reached the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a caravan with merchandise had arrived. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me one dinar and said: “‘Urwah! Go to the caravan and buy a goat for us.” So I went to the caravan and bargained with the owner of the goats and bought two goats for one dinar. As I was bringing them back, I met a man on the way, made a deal with him, and sold him one goat for one dinar. Thus, I returned with one goat and one dinar and said: “O Messenger of Allah! Here is your dinar and here is your goat.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: “How did you make this deal?” I told him the whole story. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Allah! Bless him in his trade.” This supplication was accepted to such an extent that I would stand at the place of Kunāsah in Kufa and, before reaching home, would earn a profit of forty thousand. This companion used to buy and sell slave girls.
