عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَكْذَبُ النَّاسِ الصُّنَّاعُ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Among the people, the most deceitful are craftsmen and skilled workers.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The professions of those who apply cupping (hijama), butchers, goldsmiths, craftsmen, dyers, and other skilled workers are permissible and valid. The reason for declaring them disliked is that those who perform cupping and butchers have to remain involved in impure matters, and the majority of people in other professions engage in deception and adulteration, and their conduct becomes an example of “the elephant’s tusks are different for display and different for eating.”
