Hadith 5718

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ إِلَّا رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي حَتَّى أَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no person who sends blessings upon me, except that Allah returns my soul to me so that I may reply to his greeting.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The period from a person’s death until their resurrection is called the realm of Barzakh, which is a specific type of life, and various states of it have been described in the noble ahadith. One such state is mentioned in this hadith: when the sons of the Ummah send salutations (du‘a for peace) upon you, O Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Allah Most High returns your soul to you, and you sallallahu alayhi wa sallam respond to their greeting.
