It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us: Seek refuge with Allah from intense greed, for it leads to defect and disgrace. Also seek refuge from such intense greed that leads to something difficult to attain, and seek refuge from coveting a position where (sensibly or legally) coveting is not possible.
