It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man who was praying, and in his supplication he was saying these words: "O Allah! Indeed, I ask You for patience." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You have asked for trial, so ask Allah for well-being." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by another man, and he was supplicating: "O Allah! I ask You for the completion of Your blessing." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O son of Adam! Do you know what the completion of blessing is?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah! I only supplicated with the hope of good." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, freedom from Hell and entry into Paradise is the completion of blessing." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to another man, and he was saying these words: "Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram (O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, your supplication has been accepted, so ask."
