It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which supplication is the best? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: That you ask your Lord for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. Then the same man came the next day and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which supplication is the best? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: That you ask your Lord for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. Then the same man came on the third day and said: O Messenger of Allah! Which supplication is the best? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: That you ask your Lord for forgiveness and well-being in this world and the Hereafter; if these two things are granted to you in this world and then also given to you in the Hereafter, you will be successful.
