It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Surmah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to supplicate: O Allah! Indeed, I ask You for the sufficiency of my (own self) and the sufficiency of my Master.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The term "mawla" can refer to the following individuals: father, brother, nephew, paternal uncle, cousin (son of paternal uncle), all male agnates, companion, neighbor, ally, helper, one who loves, follower, in-laws. Whichever individuals could be intended as "mawla" for the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, they will be included in the meaning. That is, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is asking for self-sufficiency (ghina) for himself and for his related individuals, so that greed and avarice may be eliminated.
