Hadith 5614

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ يُسْتَجَابُ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يُعَجِّلْ فَيَقُولَ قَدْ دَعَوْتُ رَبِّي فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A man's supplication is accepted as long as he does not become hasty. Hastiness is when he begins to say: I prayed to my Lord, but He did not answer my prayer.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is the servant’s duty to continue asking Allah Ta’ala with hope and certainty; it is up to Allah Ta’ala whether He accepts quickly or after some delay, and it is also possible that He does not fulfill the servant’s supplication, but instead grants him some other good in exchange for it.
