عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَمِعَ الرَّعْدَ وَالصَّوَاعِقَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَقْتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ وَلَا تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would hear the sound of thunder and lightning, he would recite this supplication: "O Allah! Do not destroy us with Your wrath, and do not annihilate us with Your punishment, and grant us well-being before that."
