It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The expiation for gatherings is that a servant recites this supplication at the end of the gathering: Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk. (O Allah! You are pure, and with Your praise, I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.)

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The wording of the narration in Tirmidhi is as follows: The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Whoever sits in a gathering in which there is much noise and idle talk, then before he stands up from that gathering, he says: ‘Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk’—except that whatever occurred in that gathering will be forgiven for him.” … That is, whoever sits in such a gathering in which there is much commotion and vain talk, then before rising from that gathering, he recites this supplication: ‘Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdik, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa ant, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk,’ then the sins of that gathering are forgiven for him.
