It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would come to his bed, he would recite this supplication: "All praise is due to Allah who has fed us, given us drink, sufficed us, and sheltered us. And how many are there who have no one to suffice them and no one to shelter them." (All praise is for Allah who fed us, gave us drink, sufficed us, and gave us shelter; so how many are there whose needs are not fulfilled and who have no one to give them shelter.)

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … “He sufficed us” means that Allah Ta’ala removed the harm of injurious things and fulfilled needs and necessities. Otherwise, how many people are there whom Allah Ta’ala has left without support: neither did He protect them from harm, nor did He safeguard their lives, nor did He protect their wealth. Many people are overpowered by their enemies who cause them distress; many people do not have a home or complete clothing, and how many individuals are there who do not have food and drink.
