Hadith 546

(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ بِنَحْوِهِ) وَزَادَ: فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ يُجْزِئُ عَنْهُ
(Second chain) It is narrated from the same that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a man urinates, he should squeeze his private part three times; indeed, this action will suffice him."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This narration is weak; nevertheless, if a particular person has a strong suspicion to the extent of predominant conjecture, then he may dispel this doubt by squeezing the private part, striking it with a finger, or sitting for a while. However, it is necessary to recognize the whisperings of Shaytan in this matter and to guard against them, otherwise many complications arise in matters of purification. The original method of istinja (cleansing after relieving oneself) is that after the urine has ceased, one should use a stone or water.
