Hadith 5453

عَنْ أُمِّ حُمَيْضَةَ بِنْتِ يَاسِرٍ عَنْ جَدَّتِهَا يُسَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا وَكَانَتْ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ قَالَتْ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَا نِسَاءَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ عَلَيْكُنَّ بِالتَّهْلِيلِ وَالتَّسْبِيحِ وَالتَّقْدِيسِ وَلَا تَغْفُلْنَ فَتَنْسَيْنَ الرَّحْمَةَ وَاعْقِدْنَ بِالْأَنَامِلِ فَإِنَّهُنَّ مَسْئُولَاتٌ مُسْتَنْطَقَاتٌ
Narrated by Sayyida Yasirah (may Allah be pleased with her), who was among the emigrant women, she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us women: O believing women! Make it a habit to recite Tahleel, Tasbeeh, and Taqdees, and do not be neglectful of them, otherwise you will forget mercy. And count these words with the help of your fingers, for your fingers will be questioned, for they will be asked and made to speak.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Amr radi Allahu anhu, he says: “And I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam counting the tasbih (words of glorification)…” Ibn Qudamah said: “…with his right hand.” … I saw the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam counting the tasbihat with his right hand. (Abu Dawud: 1502, Tirmidhi: 3411)
