Hadith 542

وَعَنْهَا أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَسَلَ مَقْعَدَتَهُ ثَلَاثًا
It is also narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his private part three times.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … "Maq‘ad" refers to the place of defecation. It is understood from this that performing istinja (ritual cleansing) with water is superior.
