Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No people sit in a gathering in which they do not remember Allah Almighty except that it will be a cause of loss for them. Whoever walks on a path and does not remember Allah in it, then this will be a cause of distress for him. And whoever lies down on his bed to sleep and does not remember Allah Almighty, then this will be a cause of anxiety for him. One narrator did not mention lying down on the bed.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … To recite the tasbihat (glorifications), tahlilat (declarations of the oneness of Allah), takbirat (proclamations of Allah's greatness), and tahmidat (expressions of praise) of Allah Ta’ala and to remember Him in this manner is not only a means of immense reward, but neglecting this brings about regret and remorse. A person should remember Allah Ta’ala in some way or another during the various states of his body—whether walking, standing, sitting, or lying down.
