عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَبِيتُ عَلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ طَاهِرًا فَيَتَعَارُّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَيَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ خَيْرًا مِنْ أَمْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالَ حَسَنٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قَالَ ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ فَقَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا هَاهُنَا فَحَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ أَظُنُّهُ أَعْنِي أَبَا ظَبْيَةَ
Narrated by Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, being a Muslim, sleeps at night in a state of ablution and remembering Allah, then whenever he wakes up during the night and asks Allah for goodness and well-being of this world and the Hereafter, Allah grants it to him.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In this, the virtue of sleeping in a state of ablution (wudu) is mentioned, that such a person—when he wakes up at night—whatever supplication he makes for the good and well-being of his religion and worldly life will be accepted.
