عَنِ الْحَسَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِذْ ذَاكَ وَنَحْنُ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((تَجِيءُ الْأَعْمَالُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَتَجِيءُ الصَّلَاةُ فَتَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ! أَنَا الصَّلَاةُ، فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّكِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ، فَتَجِيءُ الصَّدَقَةُ فَتَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ! أَنَا الصَّدَقَةُ، فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّكِ عَلَى خَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ الصِّيَامُ فَيَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ! أَنَا الصِّيَامُ، فَيَقُولُ: إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ الْأَعْمَالُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ الْإِسْلَامُ فَيَقُولُ: يَا رَبِّ! أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَأَنَا الْإِسْلَامُ، فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: إِنَّكَ عَلَى خَيْرٍ، بِكَ الْيَوْمَ آخُذُ وَبِكَ أُعْطِي، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ: {وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ}))
Hasan Basri, may Allah have mercy on him, says: We were in Madinah Munawwarah when Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "On the Day of Resurrection, deeds will come (the details are as follows): Prayer will come and say: O my Lord! I am prayer." Allah Almighty will say: "Indeed, you are upon goodness." Likewise, charity will come and say: "O my Lord! I am charity." Allah Almighty will say: "Indeed, you are upon goodness." Then fasting will come and say: "O my Lord! I am fasting." Allah Almighty will say: "Indeed, you are upon goodness." Then other deeds will come, and Allah Almighty has stated in His Book: «وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ» Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers. (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 85)
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Allah Ta’ala will grant every deed a specific existence on the Day of Resurrection, and He is Powerful over all things (wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer). From the last part of this blessed hadith, it is understood that for salvation in the Hereafter, it is necessary to take recourse to Islam. What is needed is that we implement Islam in our individual and collective lives, and especially within our homes. A major flaw among most Muslims in the present era is that, by acting upon a few aspects of Islam, they consider themselves to be complete Muslims. Due to this mindset, stagnation and inertia have entered their practical lives, and the desire for further action has altogether vanished from them.
