Hadith 5397

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُلُّ كَلَامٍ أَوِ امْرٍ ذِي بَالٍ لَا يُفْتَتَحُ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَهُوَ أَبْتَرُ أَوْ قَالَ أَقْطَعُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every honorable speech or action that is not begun with the remembrance of Allah is incomplete and deficient.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From several ahadith, it is established to recite and write "Bismillah" or "Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim" before various matters. Therefore, one should make it a practice to recite "Bismillah" at the beginning of every task and to write "Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim" before every good writing.
