عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) has also narrated a similar hadith of the Prophet.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The words of this hadith are: "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade vows (nadhar) and said: 'Indeed, it does not repel anything from the decree (qadar), rather, through it something is extracted from the miser.'" … The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade making vows and said: This cannot turn back any matter of destiny; rather, through it, some wealth is merely taken out from the miser.
