Hadith 5386

عَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ النَّذْرِ وَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَا يُقَدِّمُ شَيْئًا وَلَكِنَّهُ يَسْتَخْرِجُ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ
Syedna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making vows and said: Indeed, it does not bring anything forward, but it only extracts some wealth from a miser.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … By means of a vow (nadhar), neither Allah Ta'ala's decree (taqdeer) nor His will (mashi’ah) can be brought forward or delayed.
