Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a Bedouin standing in the sun while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What has happened to you?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah! I have made a vow that I will stand in the sun until you finish this sermon." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is not a vow. A vow is that by which Allah’s pleasure is sought."
