It is narrated from Sayyiduna Kardam bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about a vow made during the days of ignorance. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Was it for any idol or stone? He replied: No, rather it was for Allah Almighty. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then fulfill it for Allah Almighty; whatever you have specified, sacrifice it at Buwana and thus fulfill your vow.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Making a vow (nadhar) to slaughter in the name of Allah Ta’ala is praiseworthy. From this hadith, it is understood that for a commendable vow, specifying a location is permissible, but it should not be a place that entails any resemblance to the polytheists (mushrikeen).
