Hadith 526

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out to relieve himself and said: "Bring me three stones." So I brought two stones and a piece of dung, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) took the two stones and threw away the dung and said: "This is impure."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It cannot be deduced from this hadith that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed istinja (purification after relieving oneself) with two stones, because in a narration of Musnad Ahmad there is this addition: ((Bring me a stone.)) … Bring me one more stone.
