It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! I have a slave who behaves indecently, commits mistakes, and acts unjustly. Can I punish him? The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Forgive him seventy times a day.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is not obligatory to pardon a slave for his wrongful action; nevertheless, even in such a situation, pardoning him would be in accordance with the demands of noble character.
