It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Bashir Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on a journey. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent a messenger who was announcing that no necklace should be left on the neck of a camel, whether it is made of string or anything else. The narrator Ismail says: I think at that time people were at the watering places. (Musnad Ahmad: 22232)

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These necklaces were hung on camels to protect them from the evil eye, or bells were tied to them, whereas both of these practices are incorrect. Therefore, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam forbade the hanging of necklaces. Another possible reason is that, while grazing, the camel’s necklace might get caught on a tree.
