عَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَلَا أَدْرِي بِالْكُمَيْتِ بَدَأَ أَوْ بِالْأَدْهَمِ قَالَ وَسَأَلُوهُ لِمَ فَضَّلَ الْأَشْقَرَ قَالَ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ سَرِيَّةً فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْفَتْحِ صَاحِبُ الْأَشْقَرِ
. (Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, then he mentioned a hadith with the same meaning as the above hadith. Muhammad, the narrator, says: I could not know whether the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned the reddish-black horse first or the black horse. When people asked him why the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave preference to the white and red horse, he said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had sent out an expedition, and the person who first brought the good news of victory was riding a horse of this kind.
