Hadith 5185

عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْتِلُ عُرْفَ فَرَسٍ بِأُصْبُعَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ بِنَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ الْأَجْرُ وَالْمَغْنَمُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would braid the mane of a horse with his fingers and would say: Goodness, that is, reward and spoils, have been attached to the foreheads of horses until the Day of Resurrection.
