It is narrated from Sayyida Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Goodness has been attached to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection, that is, forever. So whoever ties a horse in preparation for the path of Allah and spends on it with the intention of reward for His cause, then its being full, being hungry, being quenched, being thirsty, and its urine—all these things will be a cause of success in his scales on the Day of Resurrection. But whoever keeps a horse for show, fame, and arrogance, then its being full, being hungry, being quenched, being thirsty, and its dung and urine—all these things will be a cause of loss in his scales on the Day of Resurrection.
