Hadith 5164

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ الْعَضْبَاءَ كَانَتْ لَا تُسْبَقُ فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ عَلَى قَعُودٍ لَهُ فَسَابَقَهَا فَسَبَقَهَا الْأَعْرَابِيُّ فَكَأَنَّ ذَلِكَ اشْتَدَّ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ حَقًّا عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ لَا يَرْفَعَ شَيْئًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا وَضَعَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that no one could surpass the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, named ‘Adhba’. But one day, a Bedouin came on his camel and surpassed the Prophet’s she-camel. When this was hard on the noble Companions, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, it is a right upon Allah that whatever He elevates in this world, He then lowers its status as well.

Benefits: … In this, there is an indication towards detachment from the world, humility, and modesty, because whatever attains elevation in this (world), humiliation is also destined for it.
