بَابُ أَخْذِ الْجِزْيَةِ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ وَقَوْلِهِ عَزَّوَجَلَّ: «قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ حَتَّى يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَّدِ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ»Chapter on Taking Jizyah from the Disbelievers and the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah or the Last Day... until they pay the jizyah with willing submission and feel themselves subdued"

عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَصْلُحُ قِبْلَتَانِ فِي أَرْضٍ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ جِزْيَةٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There cannot be two qiblahs in one area, and jizya is not upon a Muslim.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In a single region of land, it is not permissible to implement two or more religions on an equal footing; therefore, a Muslim should not choose to reside among disbelievers, otherwise he will become the cause of his own humiliation.
