It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that those slaves who became Muslim before their masters and reached the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would set them free. On the day of Ta’if, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) freed two such men.
