It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ruwaifi’ bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade intercourse with a slave woman until she has her menstruation, and with a pregnant woman until she gives birth to her child.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … If a man comes across a captive woman who is pregnant, or a woman with whom intercourse has previously taken place, or he purchases such women, then it is necessary for him to wait until the pregnant captive gives birth, and to wait for the menstruation (hayd) of the non-pregnant woman, so that it may be ascertained whether the womb is empty or not.
