It is narrated from Simak bin Harb, who says: A man from Banu Laith narrated to me: The horsemen of the Companions captured me, I was with them, they saw some goats, plundered them, and began to cook them, but (when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, arrived) he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Plundering is not permissible, therefore, overturn the pots.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … These goats were the right of the mujahideen, but in the case of looting, distribution does not occur according to the right; rather, it happens according to strength and power. Whoever is stronger will loot more, and in this way, some will receive less in their share and others more, whereas the shares of the participating mujahideen are fixed: the mounted fighter receives a certain amount and the foot soldier a certain amount. Thus, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered that the pots be overturned.
