It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) forbade selling spoils of war before their distribution, selling fruits before they are safe from calamity, and a man performing prayer before tying his belt.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … At that time, people used to wear shirts with open collars, and most of them would not even wear trousers (shalwar), which posed a risk of exposure. Therefore, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam ordered the tying of a belt so that the private parts would not be visible through the collar.
