Abu Salam (may Allah have mercy on him) says: A companion who saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) narrated to me that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urinated and then recited a portion of the Qur'an before touching water.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … As for the matter of verbally remembering Allah (dhikr) and reciting the Noble Qur’an, both of these actions are permissible without ablution (wudu). This opinion is further supported by additional evidences and narrations. However, one should perform ablution (wudu) in order to touch the Noble Qur’an; its explanation will come at its appropriate place.
