It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Atik (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty likes some forms of jealousy and dislikes some, similarly, He likes some types of pride and dislikes some. The jealousy that He likes is related to suspicion (of immorality), and the jealousy that He dislikes is when there is no suspicion or assumption. Likewise, the pride that Allah Almighty likes is when a servant takes pride in himself for Allah’s sake at the time of fighting, and takes pride in giving charity, and the pride that He dislikes is related to arrogance.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The kind of protective jealousy (ghayrah) that Allah likes is related to suspicion of immorality. For example, when a person sees any unlawful act among his close relatives (mahram), he feels protective jealousy (ghayrah) and tries to put an end to it. Similarly, associating with people of ill repute, sitting in taverns and gambling dens, being alone in seclusion (khalwah) with non-mahram women—these are also matters that arouse such protective jealousy.
