Hadith 4964

(وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ يَوْمَ الْخَمِيسِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on a Thursday for the Battle of Tabuk.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … As much as possible, this Sunnah should be practiced; if there is any impediment, then the journey may also be undertaken on another day, just as the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam began his journey on a Saturday on the occasion of Hajjat al-Wada'.
