It is narrated from Sayyiduna Safwan (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent us on an expedition and said: Go in the name of Allah, in His path, fight the enemies of Allah, do not be treacherous and do not kill any child. A traveler can wipe over his leather socks for three days, provided he put them on in a state of ablution, and a resident can wipe over them for one day and night.
