It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would camp at a place and the night would become extremely dark, the noble Companions would scatter in the valleys and ravines. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood among them and said: “Your scattering in these valleys in this manner is from Satan.” After this command, whenever the Companions would descend at a place, they would gather so closely together that it could be said: if I were to spread a sheet over them, it would cover them all.
