عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَنَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا غُلَامٌ بِبَقْلَةٍ كُنْتُ أَجْتَنِيهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, gave me a kunyah with the name of a certain vegetable which I used to pick, while I was still a boy.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The name of this vegetable was Hamzah; in Persian it is called tarah teezak. The kunyah Abu Hamzah was given to it.
