Hadith 4742

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: A child was born to me, when I brought him to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace be upon him) named him Ibrahim and gave him a date to chew.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) were diligent in ensuring that the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would perform tahneek for their children. The blessing (barakah) of the presence and saliva of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is unparalleled, but we too should select pious individuals for this purpose.
