Hadith 4739

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: When Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that he gave the call to prayer (adhan) in both of his ears.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Giving the adhan in the ear of a newborn is, in this regard, an important issue, as the majority of the Ummah, both in earlier and later times, have practiced upon it, and the scholars have established chapters related to it in their books and have considered it recommended (mustahabb). However, there is no strong hadith in its favor.
