عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُرَارَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَقُلْتُ بِأَبِي أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي قَالَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ قَالَ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْعَضْبَاءِ قَالَ فَاسْتَدَرْتُ لَهُ مِنَ الشِّقِّ الْآخَرِ أَرْجُو أَنْ يَخُصَّنِي دُونَ الْقَوْمِ فَقُلْتُ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي قَالَ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْفَرَائِعُ وَالْعَتَائِرُ قَالَ مَنْ شَاءَ فَرَّعَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ لَمْ يُفَرِّعْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ عَتَرَ وَمَنْ شَاءَ لَمْ يَعْتِرْ فِي الْغَنَمِ أُضْحِيَّةٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَلَا إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا وَقَالَ عَفَّانُ مَرَّةً حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ زُرَارَةَ السُّهْمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْحَارِثِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, seek forgiveness for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah forgive all of you. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on his camel, Al-Adhba. I went around to the other side, hoping that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would make a special supplication for me, so I said again: Seek forgiveness for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah forgive all of you people. Then a man said: O Messenger of Allah! (What about) Fara’ and ‘Atirah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes may slaughter Fara’, and whoever wishes may not; likewise, whoever wishes may slaughter ‘Atirah, and whoever wishes may not, and there is sacrifice in goats. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said: Beware! Indeed, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, just as the sanctity of this day of yours in this city of yours.
