It is narrated from Sayyiduna Harith bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and said: O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, seek forgiveness for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah forgive all of you. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was on his camel, Al-Adhba. I went around to the other side, hoping that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would make a special supplication for me, so I said again: Seek forgiveness for me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah forgive all of you people. Then a man said: O Messenger of Allah! (What about) Fara’ and ‘Atirah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever wishes may slaughter Fara’, and whoever wishes may not; likewise, whoever wishes may slaughter ‘Atirah, and whoever wishes may not, and there is sacrifice in goats. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said: Beware! Indeed, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, just as the sanctity of this day of yours in this city of yours.
