Yazid Dhi Misr says: I came to Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd Salma (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: O Abu al-Walid! I had gone out to buy a sacrificial animal, but I did not find any that I liked, except for one animal whose front tooth was broken. What do you say about it? He said: Why did you not bring it to me? I said: Subhan Allah, is it permissible for you and not permissible for me? He said: Yes, absolutely, because you doubt and I do not doubt. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade those animals: whose ear is cut so much that its hole becomes visible, whose entire ear is cut off, the one with a squinting eye, the one whose eye has become blind, the one that cannot walk behind the goats due to weakness and inability, and the one whose bones have no marrow. (Further, the meanings of these words are explained, which have been clarified in the translation.)
