Aish bin Anas Bakri (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) discussed the matter of madhi (pre-seminal fluid). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I experience a lot of madhi and I feel shy to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it because his daughter is married to me." So he told either Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Aish mentioned the name of one of them, but I have forgotten; in any case, they asked, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is madhi; he should wash it off." I asked: "Wash what?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His private part, and he should perform ablution well and sprinkle water on his private part, that is, wash it."

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Three rulings related to madhiy (pre-seminal fluid) are established from these ahadith: (1) With intention, the private part and the testicles will be washed. (2) Madhiy nullifies ablution (wudu). (3) There is no connection between the obligation of ritual bath (ghusl) and madhiy. (4) If madhiy gets on the clothes, it should be sprinkled with water just as is done with the urine of a small child; in this way, the garment will become pure. Imam Shawkani said: “And the scholars are agreed that madhiy is impure, and none differed in this except some of the Imamiyyah…” The scholars are unanimous on the fact that madhiy is impure, except that some of the Imamiyyah differed.
