Hadith 4641

عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ مَعَهُ بِهَدْيِهِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَصَدَّقَ بِلُحُومِهَا وَجُلُودِهَا وَأَجِلَّتِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent his sacrificial animals with him and instructed him to give their meat, skins, and saddles, etc., in charity.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Nothing from the animals of hady (sacrificial animals sent to the Haram) and qurbani (sacrifice) may be sold, nor may it be given in exchange for any favor. After the owner has eaten his share or stored it, all the meat, skins, saddles, ropes, etc., must be given in charity.
