It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the collar of his shirt was torn from his blessed shirt and then he (peace and blessings be upon him) took it off from the side of his feet. When people looked at him (peace and blessings be upon him) with astonishment, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In fact, I had ordered that on such-and-such water today, my sacrificial animals should be garlanded and marked, while I had, out of forgetfulness, worn the shirt. Now (when I remembered) I was not to take it off from the direction of the head. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself was residing in Madinah Munawwarah, but the sacrificial animals were sent towards Makkah Mukarramah.
