عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أَفْتِلُ قَلَائِدَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدَيَّ ثُمَّ لَا يَعْتَزِلُ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَتْرُكُهُ إِنَّا لَا نَعْلَمُ الْحَرَامَ يُحِلُّهُ إِلَّا الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ
Narrated by Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I used to braid the garlands for the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) with my own hands, then he (peace and blessings be upon him) would neither keep away from anything nor leave it. We only knew that the thing which makes the Muhrim lawful is the circumambulation (Tawaf) of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Here, "haram" refers to "muhrim" (one in the state of ihram), and the purpose is that when a person who has assumed ihram for Hajj or ‘Umrah performs the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House of Allah (Baytullah), then those things which were prohibited due to ihram become permissible for him. As for the one who sends a sacrificial animal towards the House of Allah, since he is not a muhrim, none of the restrictions of ihram apply to him.
