Hadith 4606

عَنْ جَابِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَهْدَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ غَنَمًا
Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) sent goats towards the House of Allah as sacrificial animals (hadi).
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is also a form of sacrifice that a person himself remains at home and sends the sacrificial animals to Makkah Mukarramah through some individual or institution so that they may be slaughtered in the Haram, and this is the most virtuous sacrifice. No restrictions of ihram are imposed upon such a person, as will be understood from the narrations in the next chapter.
